主讲人简介:

Dr. Yu Zhang is an Associate Professor with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of South Florida. Dr. Zhang obtained Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from the University of California Berkeley and Bachelor degree from Southeast University. She worked briefly for Jacobs Consultancy (now Leigh Fisher) - an airport management consulting company - prior to obtaining her Ph.D. degree.

Dr. Zhang is the member of two Transportation Research Board (TRB) committees (1) Airfield and Airspace Capacity and Delay (AV060), and (2) Aviation System Planning (AV020). She is the Committee Research Coordinator (CRC) as well as the paper review coordinator for TRB AV060. Dr. Zhang serves on the Board of Directors for Chinese Overseas Transportation Association (COTA) and is the President Elect with the two-year term starting in Jan. 2016.

主讲内容:

During this presentation, Dr. Zhang will introduce the Next Generation Transportation System Laboratory (NexTS-Lab) at USF and give an overview of the research studies that her group has accomplished, as well as the on-going efforts. Dr. Zhang will then focus on a real-time integrated airport surface operations management (RTI-ASOM) that provides optimal trajectories for aircraft between gates and runways with the objective of minimizing total taxi time and maximizing runway throughput.

主要研究方向:

Dr. Zhang’s research interests include (1) Transportation Systems Modeling and Analysis; (2) Air Traffic Management and Airport Operations; (3) Multimodal Transportation Yystems; (4) Sustainable Transportation.  Her research projects are funded by government agencies, such as NSF, FAA, FHWA, FDOT and also local industry companies.
