主题:Computational Modeling and Experimental Studies of Driver Behavior for Transportation Safety

  主讲人:Dr. Changxu (Sean) Wu

  时间:2015722日(周三)14:30-16:00

  地点:36365线路检测中心no1211

  主讲内容简介:

This research talk will introduce computational modeling and experimental studies of driver behavior with its applications in transportation safety. First, human behavior modeling is a growing and interdisciplinary area in human factors and cognitive systems engineering. It builds computational models based on the fundamental mechanisms of human cognition to predict driver workload, vehicle control behavior and interactions with in-vehicle systems, with both mathematical modeling and discrete event simulation methods. It can be used to design, improve, and evaluate systems with human in the loop. Second, new experimental studies of driver behavior conducted at the Cognitive System Lab with new research topics in transportation safety will also be introduced in this talk.

  主讲人简介:

Dr. Changxu (Sean) Wu received his Ph.D. degree in Industrial and Operational Engineering from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (2007). He is currently an Associate Professor of Department of Industrial and System Engineering at the State University of New York (SUNY)-Buffalo, starting from August 2007. Dr. Wu directs the Cognitive System Lab at SUNY.

He has published over 90 papers in the field including 54 journal papers, 35 conference papers, 1 book chapter, and 1 patent in intelligent system design authorized. The journal papers include IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (Part A), IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportations Systems, Psychological Review (Impact Factor: 9.02), ACM Transactions on Computer-Human Interaction, International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, as well as several other journals.

He is the Chair of Human Performance Modeling Technical Group of Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) in USA. He is also Associate Editors for IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportations Systems, IEEE Transaction on Human-Machine Systems, and Behaviors & Information Technology. He also received the Outstanding Student Instructor Award from the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) at the University of Michigan in 2006. Dr. Wu is a member of IEEE, Human Factors & Ergonomics Society (HFES), Society of Automobile Engineers (SAE), Cognitive Science Society, and American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE).

  主要研究方向:

Dr. Wu is interested in integrating cognitive science and engineering system design, especially modeling human cognition system with its applications in system design, improving transportation safety, promoting human performance in human-computer interaction, and inventing innovative sustainable and smart energy systems with human in the loop.
