主讲人简介
Dr. Guoyuan Wu received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley in 2010, while he had also been employed as a graduate student researcher at the California Partners for Advanced Transportation Technology (PATH). Since July 2012, Dr. Wu has been working as an Assistant Research Faculty in the Transportation Systems Research (TSR) group at the Bourns College of Engineering—Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT), UC Riverside. From June 2014 to May 2016, Dr. Wu served as a part-time lecturer in Cal Poly Pomona. Since January 2017, he has been holding an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, UC Riverside. Dr. Wu has been conducting research on development and evaluation of sustainable and intelligent transportation systems (SITS), optimization and control of transportation systems, traffic modeling and simulation, and vehicle emissions modeling. Dr. Wu is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a member of the Vehicle-Highway Automation Committee (AHB30) of the Transportation Research Board (TRB). He is also board member of Chinese Institute of Engineers Southern California Chapter (CIE-SOCAL), and a member of Chinese Overseas Transportation Association (COTA).
主讲内容简介
Connectivity and automation have been regarded as two key pillars supporting our urban transportation systems in the future. Recently, a good quantity of studies have been focused on the development and evaluation of connected and automated transportation systems (CATS) which aim at reducing safety risk, mitigating traffic congestion, and improving energy efficiency and air quality. In this presentation, the state-of-the-art research on environmentally friendly CATS will be briefly introduced, along with the efforts by the Transportation System Research (TSR) group in the College of Engineering – Center for Environmental Research & Technology (CE-CERT) at University of California – Riverside. A few ecological connected and automated vehicle (CAV) applications will be elaborated as case study.
