主讲人简介
Dr Zuduo Zheng is an Associate Professor in School of Civil Engineering, The University of Queensland (UQ), and the DECRA Research Fellow of the Australian Research Council. Prior to his role at UQ, he worked at University of Minnesota as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, and at Queensland University of Technology as a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Associate Professor.
Dr Zheng’s research interests include: traffic flow theories, decision making/choice modelling, mathematical and statistical modelling, and numerical optimizations. Dr Zheng is currently a member of the editorial boards of several international journals, including Transportation Research Part B and Transportation Research Part C.
主讲内容简介
Recently, the rapid advancement of technologies is turning connected and automated vehicles (CAV) from science fiction into science fact. Leveraging the potentially transformative capabilities of wireless technology, CAV will fundamentally transform how humans travel, and revolutionize the automobile-related industry. However, the impact of CAV on transport systems, while revolutionary, is also evolutionary, and for the foreseeable future, traditional vehicles will need to co-exist with CAV, which, if no effective operation and control strategies are in place, is likely to make roads more chaotic. Thus, it is important to develop traffic flow models capable of accurately reproducing features of mixed traffic flow. Such models are prerequisites to effective operation and control of mixed traffic flow.
In this seminar, Dr Zheng will discuss his team’s latest findings on incorporating human factors and connectivity’s impact on human factors into microscopic traffic models, a critical but (unfortunately) often neglected issue in traffic flow modelling.
