主讲人简介:
    Masoud Kayhanian is Research Professor Emeritus in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Davis, where he performed research and taught for 25 years. He also acted as the Director of UC Davis High-Solid Bio-Gasification Project from 1991-1996 and served the Associate Director of Center for Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from 2003-2009. His research interests are in the areas of surface water quality, innovative stormwater runoff treatment, water reuse, fate and transport of pollutants in the environment, and bioconversion of waste materials into energy. He has authored or co-authored over 200 technical publications including six book chapters and has given more than 100 technical presentations.

主讲内容简介:

    This seminar will describe comprehensive stormwater runoff characterization and pilot BMPs treatment investigation that were conducted in the State of California in recent years. These monitoring characterization and BMP investigation were unique, as no other extensive program could be found in the U.S. or elsewhere in the world. This seminar will focus on some of the unique features of collecting scientifically validated water quality data, data management, and data analysis. Special emphasis will be given on data quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC), particularly when they are being used for BMP design and performance evaluation, mathematical modeling, and satisfying environmental regulations. The seminar will also present some of the BMP treatments that were investigated under the California statewide pilot program. Specific attention will be given to the performance evaluation of the BMPs, costs associated with them, and the lessons learned from the BMP pilot investigation.
